Google Business Profile and Google API Data

Big Ideas operates applications and automation systems that may connect to Google services on behalf of businesses that have authorized Big Ideas to manage their accounts or Business Profiles.

Our Big Ideas GBP Automation application may access Google Business Profile information for accounts and locations that the authenticated Google user is authorized to manage.

Depending on the services enabled, information accessed through Google APIs may include:

  • Google Business Profile account information
  • Business location information
  • Business names, addresses, telephone numbers, websites, categories, and hours
  • Google Business Profile posts
  • Photos, images, and other media associated with a Business Profile
  • Business Profile management information
  • Performance, visibility, or engagement information when available through authorized Google APIs
  • Google account and location identifiers necessary to operate the integration

How We Use Google User Data

Google user data is used only to provide or improve services requested by our clients and authorized users.

This may include:

  • Managing authorized Google Business Profiles
  • Reviewing Business Profile information for accuracy
  • Retrieving client-owned posts, photos, and media
  • Analyzing Business Profile performance
  • Identifying marketing and content opportunities
  • Using authorized first-party business content as source material for client website content
  • Coordinating website, SEO, and Google Business Profile content
  • Creating reports and analytics for the business
  • Publishing or updating Business Profile content when specifically authorized
  • Operating automated marketing and content-management workflows for businesses we manage

Access to a Google Business Profile does not give Big Ideas permission to use that information for unrelated purposes.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Big Ideas’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not use Google user data for:

  • Selling user information
  • Data brokerage
  • Targeted or personalized advertising
  • Retargeting advertising
  • Determining creditworthiness
  • Lending decisions
  • Creating unrelated consumer databases
  • Training generalized or non-client-specific artificial intelligence or machine-learning models

Google user data is used only to provide or improve the client-facing services for which access was granted.

OAuth and Account Authorization

Some Big Ideas services use OAuth 2.0 to securely connect to third-party platforms such as Google.

OAuth allows a user to grant specific permissions without providing Big Ideas with the user’s Google password.

When OAuth access is authorized, we may securely store information necessary to maintain the connection, such as:

  • OAuth access tokens
  • Refresh tokens
  • Google account identifiers
  • Business Profile account or location identifiers

These credentials are used only to operate the authorized integration.

We do not ask clients to provide their Google account passwords to us for API access.

Users may revoke Google account access at any time through their Google Account security settings.

First-Party Client Content

When Big Ideas manages digital properties on behalf of a client, we may process content owned or controlled by that client, including:

  • Website content
  • Google Business Profile posts
  • Photos and videos
  • Social media content
  • Business descriptions
  • Product or service information
  • Marketing content
  • Performance and analytics information

We use this information only to provide services to that client or to operate systems the client has authorized.

For example, an authorized Google Business Profile post or client-owned photo may be used to help develop relevant content for that client’s own website.

Other Third-Party Platforms

Big Ideas may integrate with additional platforms such as social networks, content-management systems, analytics providers, hosting providers, email platforms, or other business software.

When those integrations are used, access is limited to the permissions necessary to provide the requested services.

Information obtained from one client’s accounts is not used for another client’s business.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information or Google user data.

We may share information with service providers only when reasonably necessary to operate our business or provide requested services, including providers of:

  • Website hosting
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Analytics
  • Email delivery
  • Database services
  • Security services
  • Content-management systems
  • Software development tools
  • Authorized third-party APIs

These providers may process information only as necessary to perform services for us or our clients.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, court order, or governmental authority, or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, clients, or systems.

Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction.

Authentication credentials, API tokens, and similar secrets are not intentionally stored in public website source code or public repositories.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide requested services
  • Maintain authorized integrations
  • Meet contractual obligations
  • Maintain legitimate business records
  • Resolve disputes
  • Comply with legal requirements

OAuth credentials and related account information may be deleted or invalidated when access is revoked, a client relationship ends, or the information is no longer necessary for the authorized service.

Data Deletion and Revocation

Clients and authorized users may request deletion of information maintained by Big Ideas by contacting us at:

[YOUR CONTACT EMAIL]

Users may also revoke Google’s access permissions through their Google Account security settings.

Revoking access may prevent certain automated services or integrations from functioning.
